This past season we had 4 seniors, and all 4 played significant roles both on and off the ice for our team. The senior class included 2 forwards, a defenseman and a goalie. The senior class played in 360 career games, scored 63 career goals, added 128 career assists for a total of 191 total points. All but one of the points came from the three skaters, while goalie Andrew Lindgren finished with a career .926 save percentage. Finally, the four seniors received 8 All-MIAC awards and 2 AHCA All-America Scholar awards.
They are all great guys and will all be great Johnnie Hockey alumni!
#9 Kyle Wagner
Senior Forward
Hometown: St. Francis, MN
Last Team: MN Magicians (NAHL)
Major: Global Business Leadership
Kyle finished his career with 104 games, 16 goals and 61 assists for a total of 77 points. He started his freshman year as a defenseman, but was turned into a centerman when we saw his offensive ability and his skill in the faceoff circle. Kyle was also voted as an assistant captain for his senior year and brought leadership along with his play on the ice. Kyle was a two-time All-MIAC honoree and was a force in the MIAC the past four years.
#11 Adam Orn
Senior Defensemen
Hometown: Ramsey, MN
Last Team: North Iowa Bulls (NA3HL)
Major: Economics
Adam was our team captain his senior year and was our leader. He is a great person and brought a lot to this team both on and off the ice. Adam finished his career with 90 games, 5 goals and26 assists for a total of 31 points. Adam was a defenseman that played with many different defensive partners in his career and was solid and trustworthy in how he played.
#25 Brady Heppner
Senior Forward
Hometown: Crookston, MN
Last Team: MN Magicians (NAHL)
Major: Global Business Leadership
Brady was one of the most prolific goal scorers that I have coached in my 11 years at SJU. He had a nack for scoring goals and always seemed to come up with goals in big situations. His speed was always a threat on the ice. He finished his career with 99 career games, 42 goals and 40 assists for a total of 82 points. Brady was also All-MIAC 3 times and was named to the MIAC All-Rookie team his freshman year. He was a consistent offensive contributor for SJU and will be greatly missed.
#29 Andrew Lindgren
Senior Goalie
Hometown: Minneapolis, MN
Last Team: Johnstown Tomahawks (NAHL)
Major: Global Business Leadership
Andrew was one of the best goalies in the country for four years. We were very fortunate to get Andrew to SJU. He finished his career with a .926 save percentage, a 2.28 goals against average and a .570 win percentage. Andrew had the ability to win games on his own. He was a 3-time All-MIAC award winner and was considered one of the best goalies in the MIAC every year. Andrew was extremely competitive and his attitude trickled through the entire team. Andrew will be greatly missed next season.
This was a great senior class and I wish all of them the best in their futures.
Thanks for all your support and Go Johnnies!
