Personal:
Growing up in Minnesota hockey has always been a huge part of my life. I have always had a passion for hockey and after seeing my brother play Division 1 hockey, I knew that I wanted to play college hockey as well. After high school I had opportunity to go pursue junior hockey and then have the possibly go play for college. However, academics were always my main priority and I didn’t want to get behind academically, so I decided to go straight to college and attend the University of Colorado Boulder and played Club hockey there. After a year at Boulder I decided that the school wasn’t the best fit for me and that I needed to transfer back to Minnesota. I was deciding to transfer between St. Johns, St. Thomas, or the University of Minnesota. I ended up deciding to go to St. Johns because I believed that it would be the best fit for me academically and I could pursue the majors I was interested in. After deciding to transfer to St. Johns I realized that I still had a strong passion for hockey and wanted to continue to compete at a high level, so I decided to walk on and tryout for the St. Johns team.
My academic interests are finance, math, and computer science. I am currently a double major in accounting with an emphasis in finance as well as a computer science. In high school I got really into the stock market and following it, so I knew I wanted to do something in finance. Also, at Colorado Boulder I took an intro to computer science class and instantly knew that this is something else that I wanted to pursue academically.
After College I hope to get a good job where I can do something in both finance and computer science. I don’t really care where I end up working in the US, but I do hope that I can get a job where it allows me to travel and see the rest of the world. However, if I had to choose, my dream job would be to work down on wall street for a large hedge fund being an analyst.
