The season is underway and the guys are working hard to get themselves ready for the first regular-season game on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Eau Claire, Wis. In order to help us prepare this season we lined up two exhibition games this preseason.
Last night we played the local NA3HL team, the Granite City Lumberjacks, and came away with a 2-1 win. We didn’t play well and learned that we have a lot to improve on before playing our next exhibition game against the local NAHL team, the St. Cloud Blizzard, on Wednesday, Oct. 30. We are using these games to get a look at all the new players on the roster and to give guys an opportunity to earn line up spots and other opportunities, such as special-teams responsibilities. In the game against the Lumberjacks, we didn’t play seven returning players in order to see all the new guys and we gave some of the returners that hadn’t played a lot in the past an opportunity to show us what they can do.
This season we have 10 new players on the roster. I have attached their bios below and we are excited to see what they bring to this team in the future.
2 - Joe Raleigh - D - Fr. - 5-9 - 165 - Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater Area (H.S.)

4 - Peter Tabor- D - Fr. - 6-2 - 195 - Edina, Minn./Cowichan Valley (BCHL)
Personal: A 2018 graduate of Waterloo (Iowa) West High School…collected five points (1g/4a) in 47 games with the BCHL’s Cowichan Valley Capitals in 2018-19…also tallied an assist in four games with the USHL’s Madison Capitols earlier in the season…posted eight assists in 48 games with the USHL’s Waterloo Black Hawks over a season and a half during 2017-18…registered 32 points (10g/22a) in 27 games as a junior at Holy Family Catholic High School in 2016-17 and spent his senior year playing for Waterloo…shoots left…son of Paul Tabor and Kristin Lindquist of Edina, Minn…born 11/22/99…Global Business Leadership and History double-major.

Alumni Hockey Game Scheduled – November 23rd
Finally, I want to mention that we have finalized a date for our 2019-20 SJU Hockey Alumni Game. We will play the game on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3:30pm at the Municipal Athletic Complex. We had to move to this venue because of ice availability at the National Hockey Center. The game will be followed by a social hour at Cowboy Jacks in downtown St. Cloud following the alumni game and starting at 5:15 and then followed by the SJU varsity game at 7:00pm at the National Hockey Center against Concordia-Moorhead.
